The iPhone Conundrum

Thanks everyone for bearing with us. It’s much appreciated and we’ve had to wade through a lot of technical details to figure out what was going on. Thanks to all who took the time to let us know what hardware you were using.

Here’s the gig. So if you’ve got an iPhone 3Gs you should have no problem downloading an episode via iTunes and playing it back on the newest iPhone.  Older generations don’t support true HD and that’s the standard we are pushing with this project. A lot of iPhone users have reported no problems, so we won’t be downgrading our normal feed, BUT we rerendered files for those of you with older phones. On our main site you will see a mobile tab; this is where you can get your files. We’ll be posting up older episodes and also adding the newest versions.

Thanks again for your patience.

I also found The Season in the Zune marketplace and subscribed there so I can watch episodes on my Zune!

    PS, LOVE the show, thanks!

Thanks JP. Sounds like it is working okay over on the Zune side. I don’t know much about Zune and actually don’t own an iPhone or an iPod with video capabilities…I know dark ages and ironic considering. Thanks for the input.

Still cannot get them to work on my iphone.
    3g not 3gs, latest software.
I’ve tried to convert them with Handbrake as I do with other movies, but still no go.

So you went to the mobile spot on our site and downloaded them from there and it was still a no go. At this stage, I’m not sure what to tell you.

  5. Darryl says:

Yep, doesn’t matter what I do they just don’t appear on the iphone after syncing.

  6. thedirtbag says:

Darryl, sorry for the inconvenience. So they do they appear in your movies on the iPhone. Thanks for responding back. It really helps. Here is what we are seeing when we test it on iPhones. 3Gs no problem syncing. Older versions you can stream the show right from the link on the site if you are using wifi. If you drag it into your iTunes it gets filed as a movie or tv show. That’s what we’ve seen when we’ve tested it.
