The Access Fund

Washington climbers owe a big thanks to the Access Fund. Almost all the footage of Anya is shot around Index, one of the finest crags in the U.S. In 2009, local climbers showed up to no trespassing signs in the parking lot and threats of permanent closure to the crag where Fred Beckey cut his teeth and Todd Skinner closed the last great crack problem — City Park.  The Washington Climbers Coalition went to work with the Access Fund.  Now, thanks to a revolving land grant from the Access Fund, Washington climbers will be able to buy our crag from the land owner.  The Access Fund has been able to help dozens of local groups secure top-notch climbing areas for generations to come.
